oro del rhin (rhein gold) in montevideo
after 18 hours of sitting and waiting in airports and airplanes, i'm finally back. my body hurts from sitting down for so long. and if i have to see a demonstration on how to fasten a seat belt i'm going to scream! do people have that much trouble figuring it out?
i've taken 765 pictures! here's just a few. i already miss it!
oro del rhin is a 75 year old german confiteria, sandwicheria, cockteleria.
they make my favourite germany pastry: palmitas allemanas. this one is the original building but they have others in montevideo.
and that's my latest cut, if you're curious.
it's cold right now (or maybe it's not and i'm not used to it) and i'm wondering what i'm doing here? people even seem so cold and distant. no kisses and saying hello to a stranger. i just heard people speaking english at iga and i thought i was in the wrong city! this is going to be a hard adjustment. i couldn't wait to get here when i was waiting for 8 hours at ohare airport, but now i don't want to be here!
